The number of companies that suspended their activity in Romania in the first eleven months of 2021 was 11604, up 17.8% compared to the same period in 2020, National Trade Register Office (ONRC) data showed.
Most of the companies that suspended their activity in the country between January and November 2021 were from Bucharest, the capital, 1159, up 13.63% compared to the same period in 2020, followed by the counties of Cluj, with 588 suspended companies (down by 0.34%), Bihor with 511 companies (up 10.13%) and Constanta with 500 companies (up 10.86%).
By fields of activity, the largest number of suspensions was registered in wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, respectively 3388 (up 24.06%), other service activities with 1305 suspensions (up 25.12%) and in professional, scientific and technical businesses with 908 suspensions (up 14.5%).
Meanwhile, the number of dissolved companies was up 23.17% in the first 11 months of 2021, to 28749, compared to 23341, between January and November 2020. The most dissolutions were recorded in Bucharest, 5239 companies (up by 16.45%), followed by the counties of Constanta (1490 companies, up 31.16%), Timis (1359 companies, up 11.85%) and Cluj ( 1288 companies, up 11.61%), ONRC said.
Furthermore, the number of companies and authorized individuals that turned insolvent has gone up by 5.81% during the first 11 months of 2021, on an annual basis, with 5,443 insolvencies were registered. The most companies and authorized individuals that turned insolvent were registered in Bucharest (996).
On the other hand, the number of registrations of individuals and legal entities went up by 37.31% in January-November 2021, compared to the same period in 2020, to 139650, of which 96421 are limited liability companies. Most registrations were recorded in the Municipality of Bucharest, 22215 (up 26.84%), and in the counties of Cluj 8039 (up 51.68%), Timis 6608 (up 45.74 %) and Ilfov 6579 (up 30.17%).
By fields of activity, the most registrations were recorded in: wholesale and retail; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (27756, up 11.34% y-o-y), construction (15283 up 19.62%) and agriculture, forestry and fishing (15111, up 284.31%).
In November 2021 alone, 10312 individuals and legal entities were registered, most of them in Bucharest (2240) followed by the counties of Cluj (644), Ilfov (560) and Timis (526).
