Stocks in South East Europe kicked off the new trading week in the red with only Belgrade and Istanbul bucking the trend and Athens and Nicosia staying closed in observance of Ash Monday holiday. The region has Europe has been hit hard by the flight to safer assets, as geopolitical tension don’t abate. Stocks in rest of Europe also tumbled on Monday in light of a possible Western ban on Russian oil. Heightened concerns over the stagflationary effects of the crisis also make investors nervous.
