Stocks in the SEE region were mixed on Monday to begin a week of key central bank meetings. European Central Bank policymakers will meet in Frankfurt on Thursday to discuss their next monetary policy move. Investors are also keeping an eye on developments in Ukraine. “Primarily, it is news from the war (in Ukraine) and the conflict with the EU that are in focus,” Austria’s banking giant Erste wrote in a note. A meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Austrian chancellor Karl Nehammer in Moscow seemingly did not result in a breakthrough.
