The new trading week kicked off with risk aversion for most South East European markets. Stocks in the region declined on Monday on fears of an economic recession later this year as a result of rising inflation, higher interest rates and the ongoing war in Ukraine. Meanwhile, the newest report on the euro area’s investor confidence showed the figure reached its most downward level since June 2020.
