Stocks in South East Europe turned in a mixed performance on Thursday amid growing worries about slowing economic growth and record high inflation. On an annual basis, producer prices in the euro area and in the entire European Union in April skyrocketed 37.2 percent and 37 percent, respectively, Eurostat data showed earlier today.

In Romania, industrial production prices for the domestic and non-domestic markets grew by 47% in April 2022 versus April 2021, but were 1.9% lower compared to March 2022, data from Romania’s statistics board INS showed.

Traders looked ahead to the European Central Bank’s meeting next week, when the central bank is likely to offer additional clues on the pace and scale of interest rate hikes to fight inflation.
