South East European stocks closed mostly higher on Friday to end a volatile week. Markets ignored survey results showing that German business morale fell more than expected in June. The Ifo institute said its business climax index dropped to 92.3 from 93.0 in May. In other news, the European Council said it backed the European Commission’s proposal that Croatia adopt the euro as of January 1, 2023, less than a decade after the country became part of the European Union.
