Equities in South Eastern Europe kicked off the new trading week mostly in the red as investors braced for a big week of corporate earnings. Economic uncertainty in Europe still persists as the European Union decided to raise interest rates by 50 basis points last week. European Central Bank policymaker Robert Holzmann told the Austrian public broadcaster ORF on Sunday that the Governing Council will consider the economic landscape across the euro zone before deciding on the next tightening step in September. In other news, private lending in Romania increased by 17.5% to RON352.8 billion in June 2022 compared with June 2021, as local currency lending increased by 19% and foreign currency lending by 13.7%, central bank data showed.
