The number of mortgage approvals in the United Kingdom stood at 63,800 in July, slightly up from 63,200 recorded a month prior, the Bank of England revealed in its report on Tuesday. Approvals for remortgaging rose to 48,400 in July from 43,300 documented in June.
SPAIN
The annual inflation rate in Spain eased to 10.4% in August from 10.8% in the previous month, which was the highest rate since September 1984, according to preliminary data published by the National Institute of Statistics.
JAPAN
Japan’s unemployment rate remained at 2.6% for the third straight month in July 2022, matching forecasts. The number of unemployed fell 2.2% to 1.76 million year-on-year in July, while employment was unchanged at 67.34 million.
DENMARK
Danish industrial confidence index rose to -1 in August from -9 logged in each of the past two months. The reading has been negative since May, survey data from Statistics Denmark showed Tuesday.
