Chinese and Greek representatives of public and private sectors explored potential to boost bilateral cooperation on shipping and trade during an investment event on Tuesday (April 25).
Organized by Shanghai’s Pilot Free Trade Zone Lingang Special Area at the premises of Piraeus Port Authority S.A., (PPA) a member of China’s COSCO Shipping group, the event was attended by Chen Jinshan, a member of the Standing Committee of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, Zhao Yihuai, deputy director of Lingang Special Area Administration, Chinese Ambassador to Greece Xiao Junzheng Manolis Koutoulakis, Secretary General of the Greek Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, Mayor of Pireaus Yiannis Moralis among others.
COSCO Shipping acquired a majority stake in PPA in 2016 after an international tender. The group’s subsidiary, Piraeus Container Terminal S.A. (PCT), has managed the port’s container terminal since 2010.
PPA S.A. was named again one of the Most Sustainable Companies in Greece. This is a top distinction provided by the QualityNet Foundation based on the annual performance evaluation of businesses in sustainable development measured by ESG factors. The inclusion of companies in the list of “The most Sustainable Companies in Greece”, provides the highest possible distinction in Sustainable Development in the country.
